“When I started the group, I felt like I was in a fishbowl, surrounded by barriers that held me back.Today, I feel stronger. I am no longer in the fishbowl—I am in the sea, with more freedom, energy, and hope. I’ve found people to celebrate life with again.

Why Care Remains Out of Reach

Low government spending: Only 2.3% of Ecuador’s health budget is allocated to mental health, and most goes to in-patient hospitals (Ministry of Public Health), neglecting preventative care and community-based solutions.

Limited global funding: Latin America receives only ~9% of global philanthropic funding (OECD), leaving critical needs underfunded.

This doesn’t have to be the end of the story

      Healing is possible.

Together, we can bring mental health care into communities, so people can rebuild connection, hope, and a sense of possibility.
